Scheduled Maintenance Planning Engineer – British Airways

Accountabilities

  • Planning and prioritisation of aircraft maintenance ensuring at all times aircraft compliance is maintained
  • Maximise opportunities within the maintenance programme and other key assets through data analysis.
  • Manage complex aircraft maintenance plans covering large areas of the business.
  • Influences the management of resources across departments and projects to meet operational and financial objectives.
  • Considers Engineering objectives when making decisions, appreciating how actions taken impact own and other departments.
  • Ensures high-quality communication takes place with all stakeholders, suppliers and customers
  • May be responsible for some management of a small team
  • Optimisation of the maintenance program to ensure best use of aircraft downtime throughout its life cycle
  • Ensure best use of hangars, manpower and components by ensuring tasks are called in the most effective manner
  • Ensuring best fit for resource and downtime
  • Providing supporting data and analysis as required
  • Continuously improve the principles around maintenance planning to ensure cost effective use of assets
  • There is an expectation that you will undertake adhocwork on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks

 Qualifications / experience

  • HNC/HND/degree level or equivalent in an approved Engineering subject.
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
  • CAA regulations
  • Understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Planning
  • Aircraft technical knowledge desirable
