Head of Learning and Interpretation – English Heritage

This is a great opportunity for a senior museum or heritage professional to help shape the future of English Heritage. We care for some of the most remarkable places in England, this role unlocks the stories they hold and helps to share them with the public. You will lead on the provision of innovative and compelling interpretation at the sites in our care. From Stonehenge to Hadrian’s Wall, Kenwood House to Tintagel. You will also oversee the provision of one of the most ambitious learning programmes in the sector with the aim of engaging with every school-age child in the country. This is a senior and pivotal role within the organisation that will work strategically to allocate and prioritise resource, contribute to significant funding bids, lead innovation and embed new thinking within the organisation.

 

To be considered as Head of Learning and Interpretation, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience at a senior level in learning, content or interpretation roles in the heritage or museum sector.
  • Evidence of the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with clear public impact.
  • A successful track record of in developing and delivering innovative learning and interpretation projects and programmes.
  • Strong strategic, operational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for England’s history and heritage.
